THIS IS JACK.
As you can see, he has very long hair.
So long that it puts Hozier’s barnet to shame.
But earlier today, the Dundalk native decided it was time to part ways with his locks.
And cut it all off.
But Jack didn’t let it go to waste.
Instead, he donated it to The Rapunzel Foundation, an Irish charity that works with people suffering from alopecia and long-term hair loss.
Jack told DailyEdge.ie that it had been a long time coming.
I decided that I wanted to do it about a year ago as my hair was already quite long, but I didn’t see the point in it going to waste when there are people out there who it would benefit so I decided to keep growing it until it was long enough.
And when he went into the hairdresser today, he decided to seize the opportunity.
I only went into the hairdresser’s earlier to enquire about it but they said they could do it then so I just decided I may as well!
Jack’s tweet has been doing the rounds on Irish Twitter this evening and his kind gesture has been overwhelmingly well-received.
As for what his Mam and girlfriend make of the dramatic transformation?
My girlfriend loves it even though she hated the prospect of it and my Mam has yet to find out.
Something tells us she’ll love it too.
